Publication Year:

Abstract (2. Language):
In this study we tried to explore the cognitive perceptions of a sample of 140 undergraduate students (77 male and 63 female) in Economic Administrative Sciences programme of a university, on the issue of human resource management by using animal and plant metaphors. Content analysis of the answers to the open ended questions showed that the most common plant metaphor to define the issue of human resource management was 'bamboo' and other plants commonly used as metaphors were classified as 'fruitless', 'not requiring pruning' and 'difficult to rise'. The most common animal metaphor used to define human resource management was the 'dog' and other commonly used animal metaphors were classified as the animals which run fast.
