Abstract (2. Language):
Purpose: The present study reflects the economic and financial analysis of private
hospitals with non-charitable character in Catalonia 2008-2013. The private health
sector is considered to be a service activity that develops an important social role. The
study positions these analysed centers in the Catalan and Spanish health sector and
presents the main economic and financial indicators to diagnose the situation of these
companies during the period indicated by analysing short and long-term results and
analysis of changes inequity and cash flows of the wineries.
Design/methodology: The data used comes from the statements of the Catalan
hospital centers in the period 2008-2013 and in particular, it contains a sample of 94
Catalan private hospitals, that mostly are considered large-level accounting (according
to the General Accounting Plan). The economic and financial analysis has carried out
using descriptive statistics and analysis results and conclusions have been reached.
Findings: The study noted that enables private hospitals in this period have a healthy
economic and financial status, although it should improve the management of assets.
Most sales are concentrated with a small number of hospitals and, regarding the evolution of the results, produces two distinct stages, the first period of decrease
(2008-2010) and the second period of growth and recovery from 2011.
Research limitations/implications: It would be desirable to perform the same study
by the Spanish private hospitals in order to compare the economic and financial analysis
of the Catalan private sector with the Spanish private sector.
Practical implications: It allows us to assess the projection of this sector in recent
years in Catalonia in order to take the appropriate economic decisions in this regard.
Social implications: The results show the changes that have occurred over the years
in the economic crisis of the period analysed.
Originality/value: For hospitals give relevant economic information and financial
health of these Catalan private hospitals in this difficult period with instructions help

Objecte: El present treball reflecteix l'anàlisi econòmica financera dels centres
hospitalaris privats no benèfics catalans en el període 2008-2013. S'ha considerat el
sector sanitari privat per ser una activitat de serveis que compleix un important paper
social. L'estudi posiciona els centres analitzats en el sector sanitari català i espanyol i
presenta els principals indicadors econòmics i financers per diagnosticar la salut
econòmica financera d’aquests hospitals en el període 2008-2013 mitjançant una anàlisi
a curt i llarg termini, una anàlisi de resultats i una anàlisi dels canvis patrimonials i dels
fluxos d'efectiu.
Disseny/metodologia: Les dades utilitzades provenen dels estats comptables dels
centres hospitalaris catalans en el període 2008-2013, en concret, es recull una mostra
de 94 centres hospitalaris privats no benèfics de Catalunya,que majoritàriament
presenten comptes anuals normals seguint el que disposa el Pla General Comptable en
aquest període i mitjançant els quals es porta a terme l'anàlisi econòmica financera
utilitzant l'estadística descriptiva oportuna i un model de regressió per arribar a uns
resultats i conclusions.
Aportacions i resultats: L'estudi permet assenyalar que els centres hospitalaris
privats en aquest període gaudeixen d'una bona salut econòmica i financera,tot i que
cal millorar la gestió dels actius. Un reduït nombre d'hospitals concentren gran part dels
ingressos d’explotació i es produeixen dues etapes diferenciades pel que fa a l’evolució
dels resultats, un primer període de decreixement (2008-2010) i un període de
creixement i recuperació a partir de l’exercici 2011.Limitacions: Seria convenient poder realitzar el mateix estudi pels centres hospitalaris
privats espanyols per tal de poder comparar l’anàlisi econòmica financera del sector
privat català amb el del sector privat del conjunt nacional.
Implicacions pràctiques: Permet valorar la projecció d'aquest sector en els últims
anys a Catalunya, per prendre les oportunes decisions econòmiques al respecte.
Implicacions socials: Els resultats permeten posar de manifest els canvis que s’han
produït al llarg dels anys en el context de crisi econòmica del període analitzat.
Valor afegit: Pel centres hospitalaris, dóna informacions econòmiques i financeres
rellevants de la salut empresarial d’aquests hospitals privats catalans en aquest difícil
període amb indicacions a seguir per assolir reptes de futur.
