As a result of the development of information systems, intelligent tutoring systems has changed to Adaptive Web-Based Intelligent Tutoring System (AIWBES) that will provide a high level individual learning instead of presenting every student the same content. Such systems provide time and place independent learning opportunity and have a positive contribution to the learning while the number of students is increasing nowadays. In this study, Adaptive and Intelligent Web-Based Educational Systems components and adaptation techniques are researched and developed Adaptive Web-Based Intelligent Tutoring System is presented. The developed system is aimed to support individual learning and intended to be a teaching tool that can be used in the Information Technology and Software lessons for students at the secondary schools. Our AIWBES collects students’ data by the student’s interaction through the system. With this information, the student model was created using the overlay model and stereotype model. The domain content is presented according to the knowledge level of the students by adaptive content presentation and adaptive navigation support techniques.

Bilişim sistemlerinin gelişmesi sonucunda zeki öğretim sistemleri de artık tüm öğrenenlere aynı içeriği sunmak yerine bireysel öğrenmeyi üst düzeyde sağlayacak olan Web Tabanlı Uyarlamalı Zeki Öğretim Sistemleri (WTUZÖS) adını almıştır. Öğrenci sayısının her geçen gün arttığı günümüz şartlarında zamandan ve mekândan bağımsız öğrenme sağlayan bu tür sistemlerin öğrenmeye olumlu katkısı bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Web Tabanlı Uyarlamalı Zeki Öğretim Sistemlerinin bileşenleri, uyarlama teknolojileri incelenmekte ve geliştirilen Web Tabanlı Uyarlamalı Zeki Öğretim Sistemi sunulmaktadır. Geliştirilen sistemin; bireysel öğrenmeyi desteklemesi ve ortaokul düzeyindeki öğrencilerin “Bilişim Teknolojileri ve Yazılım” dersinde kullanılabilecekleri yardımcı bir öğretim aracı olması hedeflenmiştir. Bu sistemde; öğrenciye dair bilgiler toplanarak, katman modeli ve stereotip model kullanılarak öğrenci modelinin oluşturulması ve uyarlamalı metin sunumu ve uyarlamalı gezinti desteği ile öğrencinin seviyesine uygun konu içeriği sunulması amaçlanmıştır.
