NECÂTÎ BEY’İN GAZELLERİNDE AÇAN ÇİÇEKLERİN SULTANI “GÜL”

Necati Bey(?-1509) is one of our most well known poets of Divan Literature. While he used the social life of his period as a material for his poems, he had also showed how he attached importance to Turkish language with his way of using it in these poems. The poet who had important contributions to the formation of classical divan poetry, could also have reflected all the elements of form and subject which includes this literature, to his literary life. Necati had also brought nature and its beauties to his poems as he had brought the social life. The rose,which is one the most beautiful flowers of the nature, also is one of the beauties the poet had used in his poetry. Rose exists in Necati’s poetry with its many features like its colour, scent, charm, freshness, blooming, being a sign of spring and more. Except his poem named "Gül Kasidesi", it can be seen that he had also used a lot of rose-centered usages in his other poems. In this article, it will be mentioned about Necati’s forms of approaching to rose in his gazels.
