Abstract (2. Language):
The place of self-determination in Greece’s Western Balkan policies in terms of Kosovo’s axis, indicates that Greek foreign policy and international law’s widely accepted right of self-determination intercept at different points. Greece’s Western Balkan politics, her relations with Serbia, her European Union membership and her relations with Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus can be given as examples. Athens, based on her priorities in these different domains, has opposed Kosovo’s usage of selfdetermination through secession. Since the beginning of Kosovo’s process of self-determination, Greece has implemented policies of applying internal components of selfdetermination. On the other hand, Kosovo’s declaration of independence and Kosovo’s and Serbia’s process of EU ac- cession cause Greece to use means of regionalism and integration in Western Balkans. With reference to Kosovo, Greece aims to implement internal self-determination under the names of regionalism and integration.
