Osteomyelitis of the jaw bone is produced by such predisposing factors as the arrival of microorganisms at the site either directly or hematogenously from a primary focus. Osteomyelitis in children rarely stems from an odontogenic infection. In this paper, attempts have been made to present a case of chronic odontogenic osteomyelitis resulting from a primary infection in a child at six years by fully describing the diagnosis and his surgical and medical treatment within a duration or one year.

Çene kemiği osteomyelitleri ya bölgedeki bir enfeksiyondan doğtudan olarak, ya da primer bir odaktan hematojen yolla mikroorganizmaların bölgeye ulaşması gibi hazırlayıcı etkenler nedeniyle oluşurlar. Çocuklarda ise osteo-myelit kaynağı nadir olarak odontojen enfeksiyondur. Bu yazıda altı yaşındaki bir çocuk hastada, primer enfeksiyon sonucu oluşmuş, bir kronik odontojen osteomyelit olgusunun, tanı ve bir yıl takip sürecindeki tedavisi sunuldu.
