EFFECT OF DENTAL AND STATE-TRAIT ANXIETY LEVELS ON COMPLETE DENTURE SATISFACTION IN TWO GROUPS OF PATIENTS IN WHOM LIVING DIFFERENT REGIONS

The aim of this study was to evaluate relationship between dental and state and/or tratt anxiety, and investigate to effect of anxiety on complete denture satisfaction in two group of patients in whom living different regions. This study was included total 62 patients who applied Facutties of Dentistry of Çukurova and Atatürk University. The patient's dates were collected by used Modified Dental Anxiety Scale (MDAS) and State-Tratt Anxiety Inventory (STAI Form I-II). In Group A, all of patients who have considerable problem with their dentures have high dental anxiety level, and the results obtained from Group A were similar to Group Ç in which 54% of patients have moderate problem. Besides, it was observed that there was highest level in both state and tratt anxiety nn this patients who have moderate problem. The Pearson Correlation analysis showed that there was a statistically significantly correlation between dental anxiety and tratt anxiety. The results showed that the item of dissatisfaction which has level of middle or severe was chewing ability with complete denture, nn addition, that patients who were in this condition have highest dental and state-tratt anxiety. There was a statisticalty significantly correlation between dental anxiety and tratt anxiety.

İki farklı bölgede yaşayan hasta grubu üzerinde tanımlayıcı olarak planlanmış bu araştırma; dental anksiyete ile durumluk ve sürekli anksiyete düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiyi ve bu anksiyete düzeylerinin tam protez memnuniyetine etkisini beirriemeyi amaçaadı. Araştırma Çukurova (Grup Ç) ve Atatürk Üniversitesi (Grup A) Diş H/ekimliği Faküttesi Protetkk Diş TedavisiAnabilimdallarına başvuran toplam 62 tam protez hastasını içerdi. Hastalara ait veriler; Modffiye Dental Anksiyete Skalası (MDAS), Durumluk-Sürekii Anksiyete Ölçeği (STAI Form I-II) kullanılarak toplandı. Tam protez/erinden, Grup Adda önemli oranda şkkâyeti olan hasta/arın tamamının, Grup Ç'de ise orta derecede şkkâyeti o/an hastaların %54'nün istatistiksel olarak önemli oranda yüksek dental anksiyete düzeynne sahip olduğu bulundu. Ek oaarak, hem durumluk hem de sürekii anksiyete açısından en yüksek ortalamaların bu hastalarda olduğu tesptt edildi. Pearson Korelasyon analizi dental anksiyete ile sürekli anksiyete arasında istatistiksel olarak çok önemli düzeyde pozitif bir ilişki olduğunu gösterdi. Sonuçlar, önemli veya orta derecede memnuniyetsiz olunan unsurun alt tam protezin çiğneme kabiliyeti olduğunu, bununla birlikte, bu hastaların en yüksek dental, durumluk ve sürekli anksiyete ortalamasına sahip olduğunu gösterdi. Dental anksiyete ile sürekli anksiyete düzeyleri arasında, her iki hasta grubunda da, çok önemi düzeyde pozttff brr ilişki olduğu tesptt edildi.
