In this study, the incidence of peritonitis in patients undergoing CAPD tretment has been evaluated regarding standart connection techniques and Y-set disconnect system applications. During the standart connection system application period,we observed one peritonitis episode per 5.6 patient-months (2.1 pritonitis attack per parient per year). During the Y-set disconnect system application period, one peritonitis episode per 10.1 patient-months (1.2 peritonitis attack per parient per year). The incidence of peritonitis episodes between the two periods is found to be significantly different (p<0.005).

Bu çalışmada ünitemizde sürekli ayaktan periton diyalizi(SAPD) tedavisi gören hastalardaki peritonit görülme sıklığı,standart sert ve Y-Set (Ultraset) uygulanan iki dönemde karşılaştırmalı olarak incelenmiştir. Değerlendirme sadece bağlantı teknikleri ve peritonit sıklığı açısından yapılmıştır. Standart set uygulamasında 5.6 hasta ayında peritonit atağı (hasta başı yıllık 2.1 peritonit atağı),Y-Set ise 10.1 hasta ayın¬da bir peritonit atağı (hasta başına yıllık 1.2 atağı) saptanmıştır. Peritonit sıklığı iki dönem arasında an¬lamlı farklılık göstermiştir (p<0.005).
