Publication Year:

Abstract (2. Language):
The purpose of this investigation is to evaluate the cepha-lometric changes induced by treatment with the Delaire orthopedic mask in the cranio-facial structures of skeletal Class III cases with maxillary retrognathism. The material consists ofpre- and post treatment and pre-andpost control lateral cephalometric films of 50 individuals (26 female, 24 male) with skeletal Class III malocclusion. 30 of the total sample (16 female, 14 male) constitute the treatment group, while the remaining 20 (10 female, 10 male) constitute the control group. As a result of the treatment in females; stimulation of the sagittal growth of the nasion, forward movement and a slight upward rotation of the maxilla, backward and downward rotation of the mandible, improvement in the skeletal and dental Class III relation and in males; forward movement and upward rotation of the maxilla, backward and downward rotation of the mandible, improvement of the Class III skeletal and dental relation, decrease in overbite vere observed.
Abstract (Original Language):
Bu araştırmanın amacı, üst çene geriliğine bağlı iskeletsel III. sınıf vakaları Delaire ortopedik yüz maskesi ile tedavi ederek, diş çene yüz sisteminde meydana gelen değişiklikleri sefalometrik açıdan incelemektir. Araştırma materyali, iskeletsel III. sınıf anomali gösteren 50 bireyin (26 kız, 24 erkek) tedavi ve kontrol dönemlerinin başında ve sonunda alınan profil uzak röntgen resimlerinden oluşmaktadır. Toplam 50 bireyden 30'u (16 kız, 14 erkek) tedavi grubunu diğer 20'si (10 kız, 10 erkek) kontrol grubunu oluşturmaktadır. Delaire ortopedik yüz maskesi uygulaması ile kızlarda Na-sion noktasının sagittal gelişiminin stimülasyonu, üst çenede öne doğru hareket ve hafif anterior rotasyon, alt çenede aşağı ve geriye doğru rotasyon, iskeletsel ve dişsel III. sınıf ilişkide düzelme, erkeklerde üst çenede öne doğru hareket ve anterior rotasyon, alt çenede aşağı ve geriye doğru rotasyon, iskeletsel ve dişsel III. sınıf ilişkide düzelme, overbi-te'ta azalma belirlenmiştir.
