In this case report, an adult patient having class III skeletal pauern with underdeveloped maxilla is presented. The patient was a 16 - year - 5 month hold boy whose pubertal growth was complete. The maxilla was deficient in antero posterior and transverse dimensions, causing a posterior cross bite and upper anterior crowding. Face mask and rapid maxillary expansion were applied to reduce the maxillary deficiency in antero posterior and transverse dinaensioıiü^espectively. Final tooth alignments were carried out by edge wise mechanics. The results of this study revealed that an aeeeptible facial aesthetics could be achieved by rapid maxillary expansion, face mask and tradiational orthodontic: treatment in adult individuals having maxillary deficiency.

Bu çalışma İM çene gelişimi yetersizliği ve iskeletsel sınıf III yapı gösteren erkek bir hastanın vaka raporudur. Hastanın kronolojik yaşı 16 yıl 5 ay olup, pubertal büyüme aUlımı sona ermiştir. Hastanın üst çenesi sagittal ve transversa! yönde yetersiz gelişmiş olup arka grup dişlerinde çapraz, kapanığı, üst ün dişlerinde ise çapraşıklığı vardır. Üst çenenin yatay yündeki gelişim yetersizliğini gidermek için I117I1 üst çene genişletmesi uygulanan hastaya, çeneler arası sagittal yön ilişkisini düzeltmek amacıyla da yüz maskesi takıldı. Dişlerdeki çapraşıklık ise sabit edge -wise tekniğiyle tedavi edildi. Bu çalışmanın sonuçları, üst çene gelişim yetersizliğine sahip bireylerde hızlı üst. çene genişletmesi, yüz maskesi vc ortodonlık tedavi ıie kabul edilebilir bir yüz estetiği sağlanabileceğini göstermektedir
