Abstract (2. Language):
There is substantial research on bruxism since 1960s, yet there is still controversy on its pathophysiology and etiology, which is based on peripheral factors such as occlusal and anatomic factors and central factors such as psychologic, genetic, alcohol, smoking and stress factors. Previously, most studies on nocturnal bruxism have been shown that the importance of cognitive-behavioral factors as stres, anxiety, personality features have shadowed peripheral factors as occlusal-anatomic impairments. In this part of the study, the "Central Factors" of Nocturnal Bruxism have been reviewed.
