Abstract (2. Language):
The subject of this paper covers social movements regarding the new and
the old paradigms. This work aims to have an idea on the possibilities of having a
newer ideological perspective on social movement paradigms. To do this, the
theories of movement by Smelser and Dahrendorf‟s social movements phenomena
are taken into account. Touraine‟s views that are considered to be the widest on
this point will be covered in addition to giving a place to the explanation of the new
social movement paradigm‟s basic theses. Lastly, Starting from Göle‟s theory of
Touraine which studies Islamic women acitivities, the new and the old paradigms
will be compared and contrasted.

Bu çalışmanın konusu eski ve yeni paradigmalar açısından sosyal
hareketlerdir. Çalışmanın amacı sosyal hareket paradigmalarına yönelik
tartışmalara farklı bir bakış açısı sunmanın olanakları konusunda bir fikir sahibi
olmaktır. Bu çerçevede sosyal hareket olgusu ve sosyal paradigmalar üzerine kısa
bir girişin ardından biri işlevselci diğeri çatışmacı olan Smelser ve Dahrendorf‟un
sosyal hareket teorileri üzerinde durulacaktır. Yeni sosyal hareket paradigmasının
temel tezleri açıklanarak toplumsal hareket olgusuna bu paradigma içerisinde en
geniş çerçeveyi sunduğu kabul edilen Touraine‟nin görüşlerine yer verilecektir. Son
olarak Göle‟nin Touraine‟in teorisinden hareketle İslamcı kadın hareketlerini
incelediği çalışması çerçevesinde eski ve yeni paradigmalar karşılaştırılacaktır.
