Rural Development is a process leading to sustainable improvement in the quality of life of rural people, especially poor men and women. Women represent 48 percent of India's population. Women have a key role in economic advancement of any country. Women have been working in line with men in various sectors, they hold key positions in government as well as private sector, and many have also managed their own business successfully. The competency building of women also considered as an active process enabling women to realize their full identity and power in all spheres of life. Women have been entered in almost all economic sectors: and have demonstrated the passion and the persistence to succeed. In this way women are very important part of economic activity. Economic activity can be expanded through women empowerment. Sustainability of our development lies on women's equal participation in economic, social, and political activities. In this direction more and more emphasis is laid on the need for development of women and their active participation in the main stream of development process.
