Abstract (2. Language): 
Serious organizational transformations have been observed at the high education system of most countries recently. Most universities, perceived as a regional development dynamic, have gradually strived to put entrepreneurial principles into practice. The main purpose of this study is to investigate relationships between entrepreneurial universities and regional development. Firstly, the role of universities on the regional development is mentioned. Secondly, the phenomenon of entrepreneurial universities with their main characteristics is studied. Besides, given examples of American and European universities, their contributions to regional development are explored.

Günümüzde çoğu ülkenin yüksek eğitim sisteminde ciddi organizasyonel dönüşümler gözlenmektedir. Bölgesel kalkınmanın temel dinamiği olarak kabul edilen çoğu üniversite, giderek artan düzeyde girişimci prensipleri uygulamaya çalışmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, girişimci üniversiteler ile bölgesel kalkınma arasındaki ilişkileri değerlendirmektir. Burada ilk olarak, üniversitelerin bölgesel kalkınmadaki önemine değinilmektedir. Daha sonra, girişimci üniversiteler olgusu, temel nitelikleriyle birlikte ele alınmaktadır. Ayrıca, Amerikan ve Avrupa üniversitelerinden örnekler verilerek bölgesel ekonomiye olan katkıları irdelenmektedir.
