Abstract (2. Language):
This study is about the theory of Greimas, more precisely about his article on the narrative: « Un problème de
sémiotique narrative: les objets de valeur ». In this context, he presents an analysis of the action, particularly,
“the lack of action” in the novel of Philippe Claudel: J’abandonne (I give up). Without denying the proposals on
the pragmatic dimension of discourse, we will try to demonstrate the effectiveness of descriptive diagrams and
narrative programs in this story that has almost no plot. The reader will find a narrator, a psychologist – therapist
who lives alone after losing his wife and who must raise his daughter who is twenty-one months old. He hates
his job as this requires asking for the authorization of organ donation after a death. Contemplating death every
day, the tears, the pain of those who lost their close relatives (who are “customers” according to his colleague)
seem to him more and more oppressive and cruel. “We are hyenas”. That first utterance of the narrator initiates the
dark story of the novel. All the conflicts described by the narrator and the contradiction created by death (to give
life) get the narrator every day closer to the idea of suicide. This contemporary novel of French literature forms
an impressive reality in which individual lives, corrupted media, social changes and fiction come together in a
condensed novelistic structure. However, we must emphasize that this is a novel that has only 112 pages composed
of texts divided up into many paragraphs or fragments. The reader observes two stories, both of which are different
and complementary. The present-tense discourse is often interrupted, cut, broken by the inconsolable past of the
narrator. This fragmentation also ensure the simultaneity.
Our study focuses on this simultaneity and narrative tension suggested by the style of the writer.

Bu çalışma temel olarak Greimas’ın geliştirdiği anlatı kuramını, daha açık belirtmek gerekirse « Un problème
de sémiotique narrative: les objets de valeur » başlıklı ve olayörgüsünü konu alan makalesinde gelişiştirdiği
kuramını ele almaktadır. Bu çerçevede çalışmamız Philippe Claudel’in J’abandonne (Bırakıyorum) adlı çağdaş
romanındaki eylem çözümlemesini, daha doğrusu “eylemsizliği” sunmayı amaçlamaktadır. Olayörgüsü açısından
bakıldığında (intrigue) son derece zayıf kalan bu anlatıda, söyleme ait edimbilimsel yaklaşımları reddetmeden,
betimleme şemalarının ve anlatısal programların etkisini göstermeye çalışacağız. Bu romanda okuyucu terapist
psikolog olan bir anlatıcıyla tanışır; karısının ölümünden sonra yalnız kalan ve yirmibir aylık kızını tek başına
büyütmek zorunda olan bir anlatıcı ile. Artık mesleğinden nefret etmektedir çünkü hergün ölüme tanıklık etmek,
sevdiklerini kaybeden insanların (bunlar meslektaşının deyişiyle “müşteriler”dir) acılarını, gözyaşlarını seyretmek
anlatıcı için gün geçtikçe daha katlanılamaz ve zalimce bir hal almıştır. “Biz sırtlanlarız”. Bu sözce romandaki
hüzünlü hikayeyi başlatan sözcedir. Anlatıcı tarafından anlatılan bütün çelişkiler ve başkalarına hayat vermek için
ölümden kaynaklanan büyük ikilem anlatıcıyı her geçen gün intihar fikrine biraz daha yaklaşmaktadır. Bu arada bu
çalışmada sözü edilen romanın 112 sayfadan oluşmaktuğunu belirtmek gerekir. Birçok paragraf ve bölüm metinsel
özellikleriyle birleştirilmiştir. Okur bu romanda aynı anda iki farklı hikayeye tanıklık eder; iki farklı olay örgüsü
eşzamanlılık ekseninde anlatılmaktadır. İncelenen anlatının bu özelliği eşzamanlılık sağlar. Bizim çalışmamız işte
bu eşzamanlılığı ve yazarın biçemi ile beslenen anlatısal gerilimi incelemektedir.
