Abstract (2. Language):
From the beginning, on the debate on issues related to the time and the nature of the time, has always been one of the most important and intricate problem areas of philosophy. Re-cently this debates’ position in the philosophy has become more important with the impact of the developments in physics. In this period, the British idealist philosopher McTaggart’s distinction of time’s A - B series come at the beginning of the most important discussion topics in the literature of philosophy. A and B series re-fers to two separate approaches depicting differently the relation-ship scheme between events and the moments of the time. By ar-guing that this distinction is the two final form of time can be comprehend by human cognition, Mctaggart try to ground his the-sis ‘unreality of time’. On the other hand this distinction within the framework of the present time philosophy discussions; it has already been adopted as a generally accepted distinction inde-pendently with the the thesis of unreality of the time. At first in this regard throughout our work the features and differences of the time’s A - B series will be revealed, secondly on the basis of this distinction different theories of time and reality that were put forward will be discussed.

Zamanın mahiyeti ve zamanla ilişkili konular üzerine yapılan tartışmalar, başlangıcından itibaren felsefenin en önemli ve anla-şılması güç problem alanlarından biri olagelmiştir. Son dönemde bu tartışmaların felsefedeki konumu fizikteki gelişmelerin de etkisiyle daha önemli hale gelmiştir. Bu dönemde, İngiliz idealist filozof Mctaggart’ın zamanın A-B serisi ayrımı zaman felsefesi literatü-ründeki önemli tartışma konularının başında gelir. A ve B serileri olaylar ve zamanın anları arasındaki ilişki düzenini farklı şekilde resmeden iki ayrı yaklaşımı ifade eder. Mctaggart ortaya koyduğu bu ayrımın, zamanın insan idraki tarafından tasavvur edilebilecek nihai iki formu olduğunu öne sürerek ‘zamanın gerçek dışılığı te-zi’ni temellendirmeye çalışır. Öte yandan bu ayrım günümüz zaman felsefesi tartışmaları çerçevesinde, zamanın gerçek dışılığı tezinden bağımsız olarak genel kabul gören bir ayrım olarak benimsenmiş durumdadır. Bu doğrultuda çalışmamız boyunca ilk olarak zama-nın A-B serilerinin özellikleri ve farklılıkları ortaya konmaya çalışı-lacak, ikinci olarak da bu ayrım temelinde öne sürülen farklı zaman ve gerçeklik teorileri ele alınacaktır.
