Although at different times of the historical process, entrepreneurship has been expressed by using different
term
s by different authors; entrepreneurship's key role in the economic development has been accepted. This study is based on Schumpeter's interpretation of entrepreneurship which has the most meaningful rationalization of its role in the economic development. Personality traits that Schumpeter attributed to entrepreneurs their entrepreneurial instincts; it is evident that entrepreneurs have different characteristics compared to average individuals. Schumpeter's theory of entrepreneurship is not only economic; reveals an entrepreneurial profile can incorporate social features. The interviews conducted with a total of 41 women, in Ankara, indicate in first-hand that this is a provision on women entrepreneurs. When we evaluate the interviews results of women entrepreneurs using qualitative analysis tools; personality traits attributed to entrepreneurs by Schumpeter have emerged and the similarities in their basic motivation sources have been found remarkable.

Girişimciliğin iktisadi gelişmenin motoru olduğu yadsınamaz bir gerçekliktir. Girişimcilik tarihsel süreç içerisinde farklı dönemlerde farklı yazarlar tarafından değişik anlamlarla ifade edilmiş olsa da, kavramın iktisadi gelişmedeki anahtar rolü herkes tarafından kabul edilmiştir. Bu çalışma, girişimciliğin iktisadi gelişme içerisindeki rolünü en anlamlı bir biçimde ortaya koyan Schumpeter'in girişimciliği üzerinedir. Schumpeter'in girişimciye atfettiği kişilik özellikleri ve girişimcileri motive eden güdüler; girişimcinin ortalama kişilerden farklı özelliklere sahip kişiler olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Aynı zamanda, Schumpeter'in girişimcilik teorisi sadece iktisadi değil; toplumsal özellikleri de içine alan bir girişimci profilini ortaya koymaktadır. Ankara ve çevre ilçelerinde 41 kadın ile yaptığımız görüşmeler, ilk ağızdan bunun kadın girişimciler üzerinde bir karşılığı olduğunu göstermektedir. Elde ettiğimiz mülakat sonuçlarını nitel analiz yöntemi ile değerlendirdiğimizde, Kadın girişimcilerin; Schumpeter'in girişimcisine atfettiği kişilik özelliklerine sahip olduğu ortaya çıkarken; temel motivasyon kaynaklarındaki benzerlik de dikkat çekicidir.
