Purpose of this study is to examine the influence of news about technology on the internet or in the newspapers published in print in Turkey on the development of pre-service science and technology teachers’ views. Study was conducted on the 46 pre-service science teachers (11 Male, 35 Female) who are second class and attending “Science and Technology Curriculum and Planning” course in Education Faculty in Turkey. “Views about Technology Questionnaire (VOTQ)” and “News Evaluation Form” were used in order to collect data. Data from “Views about Technology Questionnaire (VOTQ)” was analyzed descriptively and “News Evaluation Form” was analyzed by content analysis. When the findings from data collection tools were examined, it has been seen that the similar results are received. Findings indicate us that the use of such news has an influence on development of pre-service science and technology teachers’ view on the nature of technology. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Fen ve Teknoloji dersi öğretmen adaylarının teknolojinin doğasına yönelik görüşlerinin gelişimine Türkiye’de internette ya da basılı halde yayımlanan gazetelerdeki teknoloji ile ilgili haberleri kullanmanın etkisini incelemektir. Çalışmaya, Türkiye’deki bir üniversitenin eğitim fakültesi Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliği ikinci sınıfta öğrenim gören ve “Fen ve Teknoloji Öğretim Programı ve Planlama” dersini alan 46 öğretmen adayı (11 Erkek, 35 Kadın) katılmıştır. Bu çalışmada, veri toplamak amacıyla; i) “Teknoloji Üzerine Görüşler Anketi (TÜGA)” ve ii) Haber Değerlendirme Formu kullanılmıştır. “Teknoloji Üzerine Görüşler Anketi (TÜGA)”nden elde edilen veriler betimsel olarak analiz edilmiştir. “Haber Değerlendirme Formu” kullanılarak elde edilen veriler içerik analizi yapılarak analiz edilmiştir. Veri toplama araçlarından elde edilen bulgular incelendiğinde benzer sonuçlara ulaşıldığı görülmektedir. Elde edilen bulgular, bu tür haberlerin kullanımının Fen ve Teknoloji dersi öğretmen adaylarının teknolojinin doğası ile ilgili görüşlerinin gelişiminde etkili olduğunu göstermektedir.
