Abstract (2. Language):
K. Maraş is one of the city which is placed in the borders of the mediterranean.
Accoiding to its conditions, Mediterranean climate in the south and continental climate
in the north is prevailing in the region. The region is very suitable with it’s climate and
fertile soils, especially for the production of temperate zone fruits. Walnut is quite
important to the economical life of the local people. Therefore walnut growing is
gradually gaining importance.

K.Maraş Doğu Akdeniz bölgesi içerisinde yer alan bir ilimizdir. Konumu
itibariyle güneyinde Akdeniz iklimi, kuzeyinde İç Anadolu kara iklimi hakimdir. Bölge
iklim yapısı ve verimli toprakları nedeniyle özellikle ılıman iklim meyve türlerinin
yetiştiriciliği açısından oldukça elverişlidir. Ceviz bölge halkının ekonomik hayatında
oldukça önemli bir yere sahiptir. Bu yüzden bölgede ceviz yetiştiriciliği giderek daha
da artan bir öneme sahip olmaktadır.
