The tuffs in Miocene sequence around Gördes show zeolite contents up to 80% in 2/3 of the outcrop area. Heulan.dite--elinoptilol.ite contents, in rock samples have been, calculated by the method of quantitative, x-ray diffraction with dolomite internal, standart.., This technique has been 'verified, by known additions method. Standard samples were, prepared with. 4 slides each.., Heulandite-clinoptilolite contents were obtained from the calibration line. which represents 18 standard samples and 72- points., Highest integrated peaks of heulandite-clinqptilolite and dolomite (d spacing of 3.97 Â. and. d spacing of 2.89 Â) have been used in. the calculations,. The error involved in this method, is 4.35%. The method was found to be applicable to samples assaying; only more than 5% zeolite. The tuffs in. Gördes, Aynaalan., Hacialidere and Softalar Regions exhibit 'the highest heulandite-clinoptilolite contents based, on 95 tuff samples calculated by this method, The. zeolite, contents in pumice fragments were found to exhibit 40% less zeolite than the whole rock.

Gördes çevresinde.. Miyosen istif içerisindeki tüfler, yayılıra gösterdikleri alanların yaklaşık 2/3'ünde %8Ö'in üzerinde zeolitli.di.rler. Kaya örneklerindeki hoylandit-klinoptilolit miktarları "dolomit iç. standartlı x-ışınları kantitaüf analiz yöntemi" ile tayin, edilmiş ve diğer bir yöntem, ile ayrıca kontrol edilmiştir;.. Sonuçlar,, herbiri 4 tablet olarak hazırlanmış 18 standart örneği, ve dolayısıyla. 72- noktayı temsil eden. kaliforasyon doğrusundan elde edilmiştir,.. Hesaplamalarda hoylanditkiinoptilolitlerin d= 3.98 Ä ve dolomitin. d= 2,89' Ä mesafe değerli ve en yüksek şiddetli yansıma, çizgileri ile çalışılmıştır. Yöntemin toplam-ortalama hata. payı %4,,35 olup, %5'in altında zeolit içerikli öm.eklere uygulanam,az bulunmuştur. Toplam 95 adet tüf örneğinin bu yöntem ile hesaplanan zeolit içeriklerine göre Gördes Bölgesinde,» Aynaalan Tepe çevresi,, Hacıali Dere ve. Softalar Mevkilerindeki yüzeylemeler en yüksek hoylandit-klinoptilolitli zonlaıdır. öte yandan tek tek pumis tanelerindeki zeolit içeriği tüm. kaya zeolit içeriklerinden %40 daha düşük bulunmuştur.
