Vasoconstrictive materials not only provide deep anesthesia and hemostasis, they also retard the absorption of therapeutics and help reduce their toxicity. In this study two different vasoconstrictive material adrenaline and octapressin which are widely used in dentistry have been evaluated experimentally in period with the aid of isotope clearance technique. The comparison of adrenaline and octapressin containing local anesthetic group with the control group indicate highly significant differences. On the other hand, the comparison of adrenaline and octapressin groups unyield significant values in the statistical evolution.

Vazokonstriktör maddeler bîr yandan derin bir anestezi ve hemostaz sağlarken diğer yandan ilaçların emilimini geciktirerek toksisitelerinin azaltılmasına yardımcı olurlar. Bu çalışmada günümüzde en sık kullandığımız vazokonstriktör maddelerden olan adrenalin ve octapressinîn etki süreleri ve lokal kan akımına olan etkileri deneysel olarak izotop klİrensi tekniği ile incelenmiştir. Adrenalinli ve oc-tapressinli lokal anestezik maddelerin kontrol grubu ile karşılaştırılmasında, kontrol grubuna göre ileri derecede anlamlı farklılıklar saptanmıştır. Her iki maddenin birbirleri ile olan karşılaştırılmasında ise istatiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark tespit edilememiştir.
