The District Rehabilitation Centre, Chengalpattu is the implementing agency providing aids, appliances and services for the welfare of the disabled in the district of Kancheepuram. It works to provide comprehensive services to the disabled at their door steps. The present study focused on reviewing the welfare measures and services delivered to the disabled in Walajabad Block, Kanchipuram District in the year 2007 and has made a comprehensive report of the various schemes implemented, the increase of beneficiaries, networking with non government agencies. The study also collected the views of stakeholders including beneficiaries with regard to the satisfaction of the services provided and for effective implementation.
