What are the Factors Affecting the Knowledge Sharing Attitudes?: A Research on a State Hospital

The present study aims to determine whether the knowledge sharing attitudes of physicians vary depending on gender, age, position, title and experience in the institution and management. The universe of the study consists of physicians working in a 600‐bed state hospital. In the study, likert‐type scale including 39 items having the potential of the physicians’ knowledge‐ sharing attitudes and behaviors was used in the study. There are 87 physicians working at the hospital, and 82 of them returned the questionnaire. In light of the findings of the study, although we can argue that the knowledgesharing attitudes and behaviors of the physicians do not vary depending on gender, age, title and experience at the institution and management, they vary depending on position. In addition there are some judgments slightly changing depending on these variables. These are depending on female, younger physicians, no managers, title, a little experience at the institution and management. In light of the findings of the study, suggestions were made for the future research.

Bu çalışma, hekimlerin bilgi paylaşımı tutumlarının cinsiyete, yaşa, pozisyona, unvana, kurumdaki ve yönetimdeki tecrübesine göre değişip değişmediğini test etmek amacını taşımaktadır. Araştırmanın evrenini 600 yataklı bir kamu hastanesinde görevli hekimler oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada hekimlerin bilgi paylaşımı tutum ve davranışlarını etkilemesi muhtemel 39 değişkeni içeren likert tipi bir ölçek kullanılmıştır. Hastanede 87 hekim çalışmakta olup yapılan birebir görüşmeler neticesinde 82 hekim anketi cevaplamıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre ilgili kamu hastanesinde çalışan hekimlerin bilgi paylaşımını engelleyen faktörlere ilişkin tutumları cinsiyete, yaşa, unvana, kurumdaki ve yönetimdeki tecrübesine göre değişmemesine rağmen pozisyona göre önemli değişikliklerin olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıntılarda ise bilgi paylaşımını etkileyen bazı unsurlarda farklılıkların kadınlara, genç çalışanlara, yönetici pozisyonunda olmayanlara, unvana, kurumdaki ve yönetimdeki tecrübe süresinin az olmasına bağlı olarak değiştiği görülmüştür. Çalışmada, elde edilen bu bulgular ışığında değerlendirmeler yapılarak, gelecekte yapılabilecek çalışmalar için öneriler sunulmuştur.
