The concept of “work” plays an important role in personal life and daily life of individuals and also in development and economic improvement of societies. In different cultures, there may be different points of views upon the concept of work. In this study, the concept, the origin and the development of work ethics, which can be described as the values that a society attributes to the concept of work, was emphasized and the current work ethics values in Turkey was dişscussed.

Çalışma kavramı gerek insanların kendi özel ve gündelik hayatlarında gerekse de toplumların kalkınma ve ekonomik gelişmişlik düzeyleri üzerinde rol oynayan önemli bir olgu olarak karsımıza çıkmaktadır. Farklı kültürlerde çalışma kavramına yönelik olarak farklı değerler ve algılamalar söz konusu olabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada bir toplumda çalışmaya yönelik olarak atfedilen değerler anlamını taşıyan çalışma ahlakı kavramı, kökeni ve gelişimi üzerinde durulmuş ve Türkiye’deki mevcut çalışma ahlakı değerleri ele alınmıştır.
