The focal point of this study is to set forth the strategic instrument utilization diversity of Turkish Enterprises and to determine which instruments are preferred, with what frequency and for which reasons. Following these determinations, the point whether there is a relation between the decision making models adopted by the enterprises and the diversity of strategic instrument utilization has been examined. Obtained data suggest that there are significant similarities in the strategic instrument preference of enterprises. In general, enterprises prefer the instruments that offer quantitative data and that provide information focused on the area of activity. In addition, important findings manifesting the presence of the relation between adopted decision making models and strategic instrument utilization diversity have been obtained. According to the findings, it has been determined that there is a quite obvious difference in instrument utilization diversity particularly within the scopes of process decision making models and political decision making models. Similarly, significant differences in instrument utilization diversity have been found also between rational and limited rational decision making models.

Bu çalışmanın odak noktası Türk işletmelerinin stratejik araç kullanım çeşitliliğini, hangi araçların sıklıkla ve niçin tercih edildiklerini ortaya çıkarmaktır. Akabinde ise, işletmelerin benimsemiş oldukları karar modelleri ile stratejik araç kullanım çeşitliliği arasında bir ilişki olup olmadığı incelenmiştir. Elde edilen veriler işletmelerin stratejik araç tercihlerinde önemli benzerlikler olduğunu göstermektedir. İşletmeler genelde nicel veriler sunan faaliyet alanına yönelik bilgiler veren araçları tercih etmektedirler. Bunun yanında, benimsenen karar modeli ile stratejik araç kullanım çeşitliliği arasındaki ilişkiye dair önemli bulgulara ulaşılmıştır. Bulgulara göre, özellikle süreç karar modeli ile politik karar modeli çerçevesinde araç kullanım çeşitliliğinde çok açık bir fark olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Benzer şekilde rasyonel ve sınırlı rasyonel karar modelleri arasında da araç kullanım çeşitliliği bakımından oldukça önemli farklılıklar olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
