Nowadays, corporate social responsibility became an important subject for the academic areas, as well as business world and non-governmental organizations. In this context, recently, significant theoretical and empirical researches have been made. In particular, these theoretical and empirical researches have played an important role in formation of a framework for strategic applications of corporate social responsibility.

Günümüzde kurumsal sosyal sorumluluk, iş dünyasının ve sivil toplum örgütlerinin olduğu kadar, akademik çevrelerin de üzerinde önemle durdukları bir konu haline gelmiştir. Bu doğrultuda, son dönemde önemli kuramsal ve ampirik araştırmalar yapılmıştır. Özellikle, kurumsal sosyal sorumluluğun stratejik uygulamaları konusunda bir çerçevenin belirlenmesinde, söz konusu kuramsal ve ampirik araştırmalar oldukça önemli bulunmaktadır.
