Abstract (2. Language):
The aim of this study is to evaluate the long-term follow-up (>5 years) of the living-related donors in our center. Out of 149 living-related donors who were at least 5 years out of donor nephrectomy, 92 {62%) patients participated in the study. The mean follow-up period was 110+31.4 months. The mean age of the donors during operation and at the last follow-up was 51+13.2 years and 59.5±11.3 years, respectively. M/F ratio was 0.58. The mean SCr levels and CrCI rates pre-donation and at the last follow-up were 0.95±0.2 mg/dl vs. 0.97+0.18 mg/dl <p=0.42), and 103.5+26.1 ml/min vs. 81.1+25 ml/min (p=0.001), respectively. SCr levels and CrCI were within normal limits in all patients at pre-donation and at the last follow-up. There was significant differences in mean diastolic pressure (p=0.02) at pre-donation and at the follow-up. Proteinuria and microalbuminuria were negative at pre-donation. Proteinuria (n=5), microalbuminuria (n=3) detected at the last follow-up. Renal function remained within normal limits in all patients after donation. Proteinuria and microalbuminuria rates, as well as the percentage of donors with hypertension are not more than what is seen in general population. Other diseases, benign or malignant, are detected earlier In organ donors, if they are compliant with the follow-up protocols as was the case in our series
