Homework is placed in learning strategies, which have direct effect on learning.Type, quality, duration and purpose of given home¬work should be well planned and feedback related with the homework should be given to students immediately.Reviewing of the homework should be done not only by teachers, but also by parents. In this study, homework has been defined in terms of types and purpose and instructional effects of homework on education have been dis-cussed. While giving homework, teachers should consider student's level, originality and duration and feedback of homework, have been mentioned.ln addition, responsibilities of school, teacher and family are stressed in reaching goals of homework.

Ev ödevleri Öğrenmeyi doğrudan etkileyen öğrenme stratejileri içinde yer almaktadır. Verilecek ev ödevinin türü,niteliği,süresi,amacı iyi planlanmalı ve ödeve ilişkin geribildirim, öğrencilere kısa süre içinde verilmelidir. Ödevler yalnızca öğretmenler değil, ebeveynler tarafından da incelenmelidirler. Bu çalışmada ev ödevleri türleri ve amaçları açısından tanımlanmış, ödevlerin eğitim üzerindeki öğretimsel etkileri tartışılmıştır. Öğretmenlerin ödev verirken; öğrencinin seviyesi, verilecek ödevin özgünlüğü, süresi ve ödeve ilişkin geribildirime dikkat etmeleri konusunda bilgi verilmiştir. Ev ödevlerinin amaca ulaşmasın¬da okul, öğretmen ve ailenin sorumlulukları ele alınmıştır.
