Analysis of Prımary Education School Science Education Lesson Exam Questions According to Bloom Taxonomy (The Case of Erzurum)

In this study, 1923 questions and answers prepared in the 2009-2010 period, asked by science
and technology teachers working in seven different elementary schools in Erzurum, were
collected. The research is appropriate for descriptive survey method. Seven of the teachers
graduated from the science department, five of them graduated from the chemistry department
and two of them graduated from the biology department. The level of the Teachers’ exam
questions and students ‘exam questions answer is classified according to Bloom taxonomy
(which included knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation).
So students’ cognitive development levels were determined. Approximately 66% of questions
in the exam and the student’s answer is knowledge level, 17% of them is comprehension,
14% of them is the application, 1.7% of them is analysis, 0.8% of them is synthesis and 0.5%
of them is assessment, were determined. The data obtained showed that the teachers would
prefer to ask questions at the level of knowledge so students’ answers were generally found to
be at the level of the questions

Bu çalışma ile Erzurum’da yedi farklı ilköğretim okulunda görev yapan 14 Fen ve Teknoloji
öğretmeninin 2009–2010 eğitim öğretim yılında sınavlarda sordukları 1923 soru ve cevap
incelenmiştir. Araştırma betimsel tarama modeli niteliğindedir. Öğretmenler esas branşları
itibariyle 7’si fen bilgisi öğretmenliği, 5’i kimya öğretmenliği, 2’si de biyoloji öğretmenliği
bölümü mezunudur. Öğretmenlerin sınav soruları ve öğrencilerin bu sorulara verdikleri cevaplar
Bloom Taksonomisi’ne göre bilgi, kavrama, uygulama, analiz, sentez ve değerlendirme
basamaklarına göre sınıflandırılmış ve bilişsel gelişim seviyeleri belirlenmiştir. Sorulan sorular
ve öğrencilerin bu sorulara verdikleri cevapların yaklaşık %66’sının bilgi, %17’sinin kavrama,
%14’ünün uygulama, %1,7’sinin analiz, %0,8’inin sentez ve % 0,5’inin değerlendirme
seviyesinde olduğu belirlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, öğretmenlerin sınavlarında bilgi düzeyinde
sorular sormayı tercih ettikleri, buna bağlı olarak öğrencilerin verdikleri yanıtların
da genelde sorulan soruların düzeyinde olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
