The firms must determine their performance in order to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of their activities. After determining the present condition , the firms can determine the activities for improving their performance. Similarly, in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the performance of supply chains, the information about the performance of the supply chains must be provided. Because of the characteristics and complicated structures of the supply chains, determining the performance of the supply chains become more difficult. For designing performance measurement systems for supply chains, there are many factors that must be evaluated. However, in order to evaluate the performance of the supply chains efficiently, these factors must be identified clearly. In this study, it is aimed to determine the factors that must be considered in the design of the performance measurement systems in the supply chains and the measures that are important in the evaluation of the performance of the supply chains.

işletmeler, faaliyetlerinin etkinliğini ve etkenliğini artırabilmek için, faaliyetlerinin mevcut performans düzeyini belirleyebilmelidirler. Mevcut durumun belirlenmesinden sonra, işletmelerin performans düzeylerinin iyileştirilebilmesi için nelerin yapılabileceği saptanabilir. Benzer şekilde, tedarik zincirlerindeki faaliyetlerin de etkenliğinin ve etkinliğinin artırılabilmesi için tedarik zincirlerinin mevcut performans düzeylerine ilişkin bilginin sağlanmış olması gerekmektedir. Tedarik zincirlerinin karakteristikleri ve karmaşık yapıları ise, performanslarının değerlendirilmesini güçleştirmektedir. Tedarik zincirleri için performans ölçüm sistemlerinin tasarımında dikkate alınması gereken bir çok faktör bulunmaktadır ve tedarik zincirlerinin performanslarının etkin olarak değerlendirilebilmesi için bu faktörlerin belirlenmesi gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmada, tedarik zincirleri için performans ölçüm sistemlerinin tasarımında dikkate alınması gereken faktörlerin ve tedarik zincirlerinin performansının değerlendirilmesinde önem kazanan ölçütlerin belirlenmesi amaçlanmaktadır.
