The usability of university web sites is indispensable for institute image and usage quality. In this study, the aim is to explore the usability of Abant İzzet Baysal University’s web site in terms of student usage. Website Analysis and Measurement Inventory questionnaire, which has 20 questions, was used for data collection. The questionnaire was applied to 169 students, who are studying in different programs of college of education. Descriptive statistics and ANOVA techniques are used for analyzing data. The results revealed that there is general dissatisfaction about AİBÜ’s web site. The students found the site difficult to navigate, slow and disturbing. On the basis of these observations, some suggestions are made for the issues to be resolved.

Üniversite web sitelerinin kullanılabilirliği kurum imajı ve kullanım kalitesi için vazgeçilmez bir unsurdur. Bu çalışmada Abant İzzet Baysal Üniversitesi (AİBÜ) web sitesinin öğrencilerin kullanımı açısından kullanılabilirliğinin tespit edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak 20 sorudan oluşan “Website Analysis and Measurement Inventory” anketi kullanılmış ve eğitim fakültesinin değişik programlarında okuyan 169 öğrenciye uygulanmıştır. Veri analizinde betimlemeli istatistik ve ANOVA teknikleri kullanılmış olup AİBÜ web sitesi hakkında genel bir memnuniyetsizlik, sitede gezinmenin zor, sitenin yavaş ve kullanıcıyı rahatsız edecek özelliklere sahip olduğu sonuçlarına ulaşılmış ve gözlemlenen sorunların giderilmesiyle daha kullanılabilir bir üniversite web sayfası oluşturulmasına yönelik önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
