EFFECT OF CAVITY DISINFECTANT APPLICATION ON MICROLEAKAGE OF DIFFERENT DENTIN ADHESIVE SYSTEMS

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of ch/orhexidine containing cavity disinfectant application on the microleakage of two different adhesive systems in Class V composite restorations. 40 Class V cavities were prepared in buccal and lingual surfaces of 20 recently extracted human third molars. The occlusal wall was located nn enamel and the cervical wal was located nn dentin. Teeth were randomly assigned to 6 groups of 10 cavities according to the cavity disinfection procedures and the adhesives used each as follows: Group 1: 37 % phosphoric acid etching, etch&rinse adhesive (Excite DSC Single Dose) Group 2: Self-etch adhesive (AdheSE); Group 3:Acid etching, cavtty disinfectant application (Cavity Cleanser), etch&rinse adhesive; Group 4: cavity disinfectant application, self-etch adhesive. After the respective pretreatment procedures, al the cavities were restorated with a nanohybrid composite (Tetric Evo Ceram). The specimens were thermocycled 500 times (5-550C) and then were immersed nn 0,5% basic fuchsin for twenty-four hours. After rinsing, the restorations were longitudinally sectioned and dye penetration was assessed under a stereomicroscope (40x). Data were anatyzed by Kruskal-Wa/its and Mann-Whttney U tests. There was no significant difference between the microleakage scores of the restorations, received no pretreatment after cavtty preparation and cavtty disinfectant application at occlusal and gingival margnns(p>0.05). No significant differences was also observed between the adhesive systems used(p>0.05). Cavity disinfectant application didn't significantly affect the microleakage of etch &rnnse and self-etch adhesive systems in class V composite restorations.

Bu nn vitro çalışmanın amacı, k/orheksidin içeren kavtte dezenfektanı uygulamasının iki farklı adeziv sistem kullanılarak yapı/an sınıf V kompozit restorasyonların mikrosızıntısına etkisinin değerlendirilmesidir. 20 adet çekilmiş üçüncü moaar insan dişinin bukkal ve lingual yüzey/erine 40 adet Class V kavtte preparasyonu yapldı. Kavite/erin okluzal marjinleri minede gingiva/ marjinleri dentnnde olacak şekilde hazır/andı. Dişler, her grupta 10 kavtte olacak şekilde rastgele 4 gruba ayr/ldı: Grup 1: % 37 fosforik asit ile pürüzlendrrme, etch&rnnse adhesive (Excite DSC Single Dose) Grup 2: Self-etch adesiv (AdheSE); Grup 3: Asitle pürüzlendrrme, kavtte dezenfektanı uygulaması (Cavtty Cleanser), etch&rnnse adeziv, Grup 4: kavtte dezenfektanı uygulaması, self-etch adeziv. Bu uygu/amaları takiben bütün kaviteler nanohibrid yapıda bir kompozit rezinfTetric Evoceram) ile restore edildi. Hazrraanan örneklere 500 kez termal sik/us (5-550C) uygulandıktan sonra örnekler %% 0.5lik bazik fuksin solusyonunda 24 saat bekletildi. Daha sonra dişler yıkanıp, bukkotingual yönde dikey olarak kesilerek stereomikroskop altında ince/endi (X40).Boya penetrasyon dereceleri kaydedildi. Alınan sonuç/ar Kruskal-Wallis ve Mann-Whttney-U testi ile istatistiksel olarak değerlendirildi. Çalışmanın sonucunda, kavtte preparasyo-nundan sonra herhangi brr işlem uygulanma- yan restorasyonlarla kavtte dezenfektanı uygulanan örneklerin okluzal ve gingival marginlerindeki sızıntı dereceleri arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı brr fark saptanmadı(p>0.05). Bununla birlikte, kulan lan adeziv sistemlerin arasındaki fark anlamlı bulunmadı (p> 0.05). Kavtte dezenfektanı uygulamasının etch & rinse ve seff-etch adeziv sistemler kullanılarak yapılan sınıf V kompozit restorasyonların kenar sızıntısına brr etkisi bulunmamaktadır.
