This study investigates the effect of authentic leadership style on prosocial service behaviors. In organizational behavior studies, employee’s prosocial service behaviors are related with organizational factors. In this respect, this study aims to investigate authentic leadership style which is expected to affect employee’s prosocial service behaviors. The sample of this study is defined as the employees of the four and five star hotels in Istanbul. Significant results have been found as results of the research which was conducted on 410 employees. Based on the findings, significant relationships have been observed between authentic leadership style and prosocial service behavior. Moreover, authentic leadership style is found to have significant effects on employee’s role prescribed customer oriented prosocial service behavior, extra role customer oriented prosocial service behavior and co-workers oriented prosocial service behavior.

Bu çalışmada otantik liderlik tarzının prososyal hizmet davranışları üzerindeki etkisinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Örgütsel davranış literatüründeki çalışmalarda işgörenlerin prososyal hizmet davranışları sergilemeleri örgütsel faktörlerle ilişkilendirilmektedir. Bu doğrultuda çalışmada, prososyal hizmet davranışları üzerinde etkili olduğu düşünülen ve örgütsel faktörlerden birisi olarak nitelendirilen otantik liderlik tarzı ele alınmıştır. Prososyal hizmet davranışlarının incelenmesi sebebiyle İstanbul’da faaliyet gösteren dört ve beş yıldızlı otel işletmelerinin çalışanları araştırma evreni olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırma evreni kapsamında ulaşılan 410 otel işletmesi çalışanı üzerinde gerçekleştirilen araştırmanın sonucunda anlamlı bulgulara ulaşılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre, otantik liderlik tarzı ile prososyal hizmet davranışları arasında anlamlı ilişkiler vardır. Ayrıca otantik liderlik tarzı işgörenlerin müşterilere yönelik rol tanımlı ve rol ötesi prososyal hizmet davranışı sergilemelerini ve çalışma arkadaşlarına yönelik prososyal davranışlar sergilemelerini etkilemektedir.
