Abstract (English): 

This article reveals the critical features and satire included in the Cabaret. The article gives a historical perspective and also it explains the appearance and the development of the Cabaret in Turkey by the attempts of Haldun Taner, the playwright, director and thinker. The article emphasizes the political view behind Haldun Taner’s efforts to establish a cabaret in Istanbul. It also questions the reasons why the Cabaret has lost its importance today.
