ALTIN MADENCİLİĞİNDE SİYANÜR KULLANIMI

Türkçe Özet: 

Yüksek altın kurlarının üretimi zorlamasıyla
birlikte, düşük tenörlü epit.erm.al tip cevherlerin işletilmesine
olanak veren, siyanürleme yönteminin katkısıyla,
70'li yıllardan itibaren altın madenciliği hızlı
bir yükselme dönemine girdi,. Bunun sonucunda
Amerika, Avustralya ve Pasifik'teki çok sayıda altın
madeni üretime geçmiştir.. Son 20 yılda dünya, altın,
üretimi, 1189 tondan 2304 tona, iki katına yakın artmıştır
(World Metal Statistics, 1999),. Güney Afrika
ve Rusya gibi geleneksel altın üreticisi ülkelerin dünya
altın üretimindeki, paylan döşerken, diğerlerinin
ki hızla artmıştır.. Dünya altın üretiminin % 60'ı dört
sanayileşmiş ülke ABD, Kanada, Avustralya ve Güney
Afrika tarafından yapılmaktadır. Diğer sanayileşmiş
batı ülkeleri dikkate alındığında, bu oran %
70'e yükselmektedir (Wellnter, 1995).. Bo dört ülkenin
ardından Çin, BDT, Endonezya, Rusya Federasyonu,
Brezilya ve Papııa Yeni Gine gelmektedir. Çin
ve Endonezya, büyük bir gelişme göstererek, son. on
yılda üretimlerini sıfırdan, sırasıyla, 160 ve 109 tona
çıkartmışlardır;.
Avrupa Birliği üyesi ülkelerden Fransa,, İspanya,
Yunanistan ve İtalya'da, siyanürleme yöntemiyle altın
üretilmektedir (Mining Jour..Rcs.Service,,,1994;
Mining Jour.., 1997a). Avrupa Birliği dışındaki ülkelerden
isveç, Finlandiya ve Yugoslavya'da da altın
üretimi yapılmaktadır. Ayrıca Romanya ve Bulgaristan'da
kayıtlara geçmemiş üretim vardır.Son yıllarda madencilik sektöründe büyük bir
durgunluk yaşanırken,,, yakın geçmişteki bu olumlu
gelişmeler sonucunda gerek projeler ve gerekse yatırımlar
bazında altın madenciliğine hızlı bir yönelim
olmuştur. Diğer metallere oranla, altın madenciliğinin
yatırımlar bazındaki payı 1975'te % 4' ten 1985'te %
12' ye ve geliştirme projeleri bazındaysa, yine aynı
dönemler için, % 12'den % 48''e yükselmiştir (Boisson,
1987).. 1996 yılında dünya çapındaki arama bütçelerinin
(toplam 3.52 milyar dolar) VA 60.9"u altın
madenciliğine ayrılmıştır (Metals Economies Group,
1996). 1.994 yılı içinse aynı oran % 56.4 (toplam arama
bütçesi 2,05 milyar dolar) ve 1995"de ik 58.5"dur
(toplam arama bütçesi 2.69 milyar dolar) (Mêlais
Economies Group, 1995). Ocak 1995 ile F.yHil 1996
tarihleri arasında geliştirilen projelere göre,. 63 ianesi
K. Amerika ve 12 tanesi Avrupa'da olmak üzere
1996-1999 döneminde 208 adet yeni allın madeninin
işletmeye alınması planlanmıştır (Madencilik Bilir,
1997).
Cevherin çıkarılmasında ve işlenmesinde yeni
teknolojileri o kullanılması ve tekniklerin iyileştirilmesi
maliyetleri düşürmüş ve böylece düşük tenörlü
cevherlerin de değerlendirilebilmesi yolunu açmıştır.
Ayrıca, baz metallerde uzun süredir görülen durgunluk,
büyük madencilik şirketlerinin altın aramacılığına
yönelmelerine neden olmuştur. Altın madenciliğinin
gözde oluşunun bir başka nedeni de diğer .metallere
oranla yarattığı yüksek katma değerdir.. Ocak ağzında
altının yarattığı katma değer % 98-99 iken, diğer
metallerde ocak ağzındaki katma değer alüminyum
için % 7, krom % 34, çinko % 49, kurşun % 56
ve bakır için % 68*dir (Wel.lm.er, 199.5).

The techniques used in the gold mining are not different front the ones used in the other metallic ores, Following
the liberalisation, the ore excavated from the mine is subjected to the extraction process for the gold. According
to the mineralogy of the ore., cyanidation, floatation or gravita ton is applied- at this stage.. Cyanklation
has a share of 83 % in the world g(dd production at present. Developed countries provide 70 % of the world gold
production.
Cyanide (CN), is a simple compound of carbon and nitrogen continuously met through the daily life.. Cyanide
produced by the different plants is present in the natural environment as well. Cyanide, not resembling to the
ottter chemicals dangerous for the environment,, is know!} as a material not accumulating in the living organisms
and non-carcinogenic or -mutagenic. It is na tit ratty degraded and decomposes to its elements by sunlight, bacteria
and plants.
Varions cyanide complexes are used in the metal processing and e tec!Toplat ing,, mining, plastics, paint, electronics,
agricultural chemicals and medicines.. Sodium cvankle used in. the mining sector is less than 20 % of the
total demand for cyanide. The cyanide import t »f Turkey is 2500 Urns in the previous year to use in the industry..
Sodium cyanide has been used safely and effective!)' in the gold mining fin- 100 years., Bui it is a dangerous
chemical that must always be used with caution. The adverse effect of cyanide to the environment is successfidly
prevented by the measures taken during and after the mining activities. Cyanide concentration of the solution is
towered by the chemical destruction method to i ppnı i I tng/t) level fitting with the standards for the waste deposition.
Then, this material spreading at the tailings pond is destntcted completely by the effect of sunlight Tailings
pond is reinforced from the bottom and the flanks with clay and geomemhrane in order to prevent the leakage
into the environment. Practically, it is accepted that lining these two materials in succession provides the
"zero permeability*'. It is ktwwn from the researches that the process water discharged to the tailings pond is
completely destriicted between 5 and 12 mouths according to the cyanide concentration, it is clearly indicated, in
the various publications that due to the cyanide use in the gold mining there has been any accident resulted in
death till today.
